Video Wednesday: Reunions With Otis

Pictures simply do NOT do Otis justice. Especially when I sit here all day and blab about how reserved he can be. I suppose the occasional zoomie picture might give him some credit where credit is due, but when Otis is out of his shell – which is a lot at my house – he is one of the silliest, happiest dogs I know.

Coming home to Otis is hilarious, and hands down the best part of my day. He gets so excited that his butt scoots underneath him and he just starts frog leaping all over the place. I feel a little bit bad misleading people that he is calm and subdued all the time – because this two year old certainly has puppy energy when he wants to! But that’s what I love about him (and the fact that he zonks out two minutes later). His joy is infectious, and it can cure any tough day at work.

Warning: this video has some screeching in it, so turn your volume down and enjoy the hurricane that is Otis upon my return!

Furget Me Not

Hello Everyone. I would like to remind you that despite FosterMom’s best efforts to make you think I had all but disappeared last two posts about other things, I am still around! I am still here doing what I do best: looking sleepy, being pathetic, and oozing cuteness.

I’m also always on safety dog duty, using my epic drool to ward off any intruders. You can find me in most doorways inspecting the happenings going on around the house, making sure I approve of them all.

So don’t be fooled by FosterMom’s off-topic posts – I haven’t gone anywhere but to snooze on the couch! Don’t forget about me!

Otie’s Hobbies

Honey Bunches of Otis has some favorite hobbies. While he does most of them on a regular basis, I can only capture a few on camera.

One is wrapping himself in comfy bedding, creating a “dog in a blanket.” He wasn’t pleased that I caught him in the act.

The other is watching TV with us. This particular night it was Top Gear, one of his favorites. He and Fosterdad really enjoyed watching it together. You can see how focused he is.

Things that Otie really doesn’t like? Going to the vet.

He had a little ear infection which is luckily all taken care of now, but he sure wasn’t pleased about being in that office! I was very proud of how well he did in his exam though. He was only comfortable letting the doctor work on him if he had his paw on the vet’s knee. It was the cutest thing ever, and I was one proud Fostermama watching him take his check up like a champ.

I love his silly hobbies and his silly milestones. I can’t wait for someone else to enjoy them though – and for the rest of his life.

Play With Me

I’ve had dogs with all types of personalities. I’ve had dogs that are snugglers, and dogs that like space. I’ve had dogs that solicit attention, and ones who could care less if you give them a behind-the-ear scratch or not. I’ve had dogs who get annoyed when you try to play with them, and I’ve had dogs who love all the ways you spend your time together.

Otis is that last one. He really likes to play, and he’ll put up with anything.

And I LOVE it.

In fact, I totally can’t get enough of it.

Playing with this pup makes my whole day better. I can’t wait for him to brighten someone else’s life as much as he has mine. But until then, I’m going to soak up every bit of happiness, love, and playfulness Honey Bunches sends my way.

How to Co-Blog, Otie Style

Otie is really helpful when it comes to our evening blogging sessions.

Okay, that was a joke. Honey Bunches will wiggle his way riiiiight next to me on the couch while I’m posted up blogging, then proceed to start snoring. Loudly. Now I am not someone who is good at writing with distractions – and this guy is a BIG distraction. Luckily I can never get upset about it because he gets so darn comfy and cute all snuggled up there on the couch. Also because then he makes faces like this:

Right? Try keeping a straight face to THAT grin!

Have a great weekend!

How I Spent My LUV Day

I woke up yesterday feeling sorta funny… sorta like the day was gonna be a day full of extra kisses and hugs – something fostermama referred to as Valadine’s Day. Not sure why I felt this way, but it had me acting all silly for fostermama when she was trying to get ready for work in the morning. It was 7 am but I was wiggling all over the place. I think I am what they call crazy in love. What I’m in love with? I’m not sure of that either. But I know it was fun being goofy and making Fostermama laugh!

I tried really, really, really hard to convince her not to go to work so we could spend the whole day doing nothing! I put on my cutest, silliest antics to try and distract her.

She said it worked a little, and since it was Valadine’s Day she would stop and hang out with me for a bit before work. I was cool with that.

After a quick kiss on the face she told me we had to go to work now, so I put on my Valadine’s Day outfit and got my big licker ready. Bring onnn the lovin!

Work was great, as usual. I hung out with one of my Valadine’s named Dolce. She is one of those looks-smells-acts-like-a-dog-but-can’t-be-a-dog dogs. But she was wearing a pink sweater so I thought she looked pretty cayoot, especially when she had me as paw candy.

Then last night fostermama left me for this thing called a date, but I was sooo happy because it meant I got to hang out with fostergrandma! Fostergrandma is my favorite. She loves on me and makes sure I am always warm and have a full belly. We hung out watching American Idol together.

It was the best day! I hope you all had a great day smoochin on your animals for Valadine’s Day.
