Competitive Cuddling

Didn’t you hear? There’s a competition for 2012’s Best Cuddler Award. I didn’t realize he was even in the running, but it seems Sinclair has been training very hard to make himself the best cuddling competitor possible.  Check out his training regimen while he was with me last week. . .

He starts by sneaking his way onto the bed in the first place, as a warm up.

Then he slowly works his way closer to his cuddling object – usually the human – and curls up behind the often unknowing recipient.

When he finally feels prepared and warmed up, he goes into full blown competition mode:

He stays there for a while, practicing and practicing, until finally the cool down phase. This is where he stretches and lets loose a little after his tough cuddling workout:

Gosh, cuddling is just such hard work – but I think he’s on his way to Cuddling Champion!

Doctor Otis

Dr. Otis says: “Snuggling is the best medicine.”

How many times can I drive this point home: Otis is an AMAZING SNUGGLER. Amazing. I’ve shown it in this post and in this post and now I’m going to talk about it again – because I think it’s one of his best qualities!

My brother Russell had to get foot surgery to remove a foreign object, and under doctor’s orders he’s been occupying the couch all weekend.  Wouldn’t ya know, Otis is a great buddy to be bed-ridden with! We all piled up on the couch for some serious lazy Sunday action (the rain helped a lot), and Otis did his best to put Russ on the mend.

Boy did he try hard! I don’t think Otis was snuggled up for more than ten minutes before he started snoring. How can you not feel better with this little guy cozied up next to you!?

Otis was even nice enough to give me some snuggles, but ONLY after I got a sufficient amount of time with the other end. Gee, thanks Otie.

I guess I can’t really get mad since he was busy playing Doc Otis. I was pretty impressed at how “concerned” he was about Russ, and it was cute to watch them hang out all weekend. If you like curling up on the couch with your pup for a good movie, good book, or a nice nap – Otis is your guy!
