Why You Want Me Wednesday

Why You Want Me Wednesday is your one-stop-shop for all the fabulous reasons why I’ll be your next best friend! So far I’ve proven to be a fabulous lap dog, a great adventuring partner and a really silly sleeper who will make you laugh!

Today I’m sharing my fashion-forward style with you to show what a fab accessory I’ll be at the end of your leash! This week, the reason you want me is:

That’s right. I rock the pink like nobody’s business. Yes, I know I have a boy’s name – but all the better reason to show my feminine side, right? Besides, it totally impresses all the boy doggies. . . hehe. Do you think it will impress my forever family?

KISS ME Kenya!

Look at this cutie! Doesn’t she sort of remind you of Nala from The Lion King?

kenya3This princess is waiting for her forever home! Her name is Kenya. She’s a gentle girl – so gentle that the kennel staff have to carry her from her cage when they clean in the morning because she doesn’t want to get out of bed! She loves people though.  When she got outside and started moving around she hopped right up on this bench to hang out with my coworker, get some loving and of course give KISSES!

So cute! Kenya would love a home of her own to get snuggles and kisses galore. She’s about a year and a half and got a STELLAR evaluation! “Sweet, reserved, affectionate”. . . doesn’t get much better than that!

Long Weekend. . . with Charlie!

I know you all remember Charlie, the adorable perma-pup from Jasmine’s House that crashed at my place over Thanksgiving weekend. It’s all coming back to you now, right? The handsome markings, the big, dreamy eyes, the pint size body. . .

Well, he’s back at my place for a couple days over this long weekend, and we are loving it! Except there’s one thing different this time around: he’s now adopted!!!

When I introduced Charlie in November, he was looking for his forever home after finally overcoming some nasty health issues thanks to the hard work of his fabulous foster family. After going through a few applicants and having them fall through, his foster family realized Charlie wasn’t supposed to be anyone’s but theirs, and they decided to keep him.  When I saw him interact with their family – including his two six-year old human brothers – I knew all along that he was meant to be theirs, and I was beyond thrilled when I heard the news that he was home forever.

They’re enjoying the long weekend out of town, so I get the pleasure of having Charlie hang out at my house again! It’s only for about two days, which naturally means we’re going to squeeze in as many adventures as possible ;-).  Hope you’re ready for some cuteness this week!

P.S. Yes, that bottom photo has purple in it to celebrate last night’s football win. . . GO RAVENS!!! While I’m a Skins fan at heart, I obviously love to see a Maryland team make it to the Superbowl – especially when it’s full of UMD Terps and pit bull advocates!

My Mini Me

Otis here. I’m back with J for just a few short days. I was really excited to head back to work with her, but little did I know what I was in for that first day back.

J told me about this little stray pup at the shelter who looked just like me, and she said we’d get a chance to meet each other. I was, um, not thrilled because dogs that bounce and yip and move quickly are not my favorite thing – and puppies happen to be all of those in one little package. Greeaaatttttt.Turns out the little stinker had spent a lot time with my former-foster mama back at her desk snoozing the day away, so she thought she’d be a low key buddy for me too. Boy was she WRONG. She started acting a fool when I came around!ig02ig06

"Get me outta here!"

“Get me outta here!”

Although I do have to admit we were pretty cute together, dontcha think? I mean, look: our striped furs totally match! And our paws dipped in white and our big brown eyes. If I didn’t know any better I’d say we were relay-did.

This little girl is named Pixie and she’s looking for her forever home. Can one of you adopt her so she stops tormenting me? Email my former-foster mama at peacelovefoster@gmail.com if you’re interested.  Thanks a million!

What’s a Dog to Do?

Poor Sinclair is just all worked up over this crazy weather! Here in Maryland we have experienced a total identity crisis for the month of December – this week it was in the 60s! What!? Sinclair just does not understand how he is strutting his stuff in the nice weather one day, and then bundling up for frost the next. What’s a dog to do!?

Get dressed up in cute winter gear, that’s what:

And then sulk about it because it’s embarrassing:

Sorry, Sinny – guess you’re just going to have to get used to it!  We’ve got a long winter ahead of us. Hopefully a family will come along, scoop you up and snuggle you all winter long so you don’t have to wear any more embarrassing scarves.

If you are interested in adding Sinclair and his sonar ears into your family, email me at peacelovefoster@gmail.com or fill out an application on the Jasmine’s House website.
