That Time I Accidentally Went Swimming

I get to try lots of new fun things in this foster home – certainly a lot more than I was able to do in the shelter.  Foster mama takes me on long walks around the neighborhood or around fun outside places with lots of people or also sometimes around the woodies in her backyard. I like the woodies because they are calm and quiet but also have lots of sniffs of creatures I have never met before! I always look forward to our walks in the woodies.

On this one particular day it was a bit warmer and both foster mama and I were feeling adventurous. We were trotting along in the woods when all of a sudden we saw water. I’d never really gotten the chance to see water like that before (it was called a streams?) so since we were feeling adventurous, we walked right up to the edge. To foster mama’s surprise, I put my paws right in!

Since I was being oh so brave with my paws, foster mama decided to keep going and see how far I’d venture into the streams. We came to a part that was awfully deep – unbeknownst to me! – and foster mama just kept plodding along like it was nothing, so of course I followed her! Boy was that a bad idea. I went in deeper than I have ever been! Luckily that is only about eight inches, but still! It caught my poor little doggy brain totally by surprise and I was eeyore-ing all over the place (that’s what foster mama calls my confused/sleepy/nervous face). Luckily I recovered immediately, shook it off and have now vowed to never go near water again! Okay, maybe not quite that, especially as foster mama is saying we are going swimming when it gets warmer, but I am definitely taking my time in the puppy pool first!
