Puppy Temptation

One of the best and worst things about working at an animal shelter? PUPPIES.

Sure, they’re cute and adorable and can spend time at your desk with you. . .

. . .BUT then you’re tempted to go against all of your better judgement and take them home with you as a foster. Everyone knows though that puppies are fun to play with and snuggle until you bring them home and they destroy your house and keep you up all night. Which is why I have to avoid this face at all costs:

No puppies this time around, even though I was this close l——–l to leaving work that day with her in tow. Luckily MooMoo, as we fondly named her, was scooped up by local rescue Bully Paws and will probably find a home in no time!

Happy Friday!

Oh my goodness! How could you not be tempted by that adorable face? She is just precious! I am quite sure MooMoo will find a home real soon…she’s an Angel:) Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo

    • haha they are wildly hard to resist, so I don’t blame you. This one was SO well behaved too. Luckily I had signed up to pet sit so I couldn’t take her home with me, or else I’d be saying see ya to my social life for a few weeks!

So cute! But, yes, avoid! Having all seniors and being a fan of rescuing adult dogs, I don’t think I’ll ever have a puppy again. :)

I loved fostering puppies this summer, but I am a teacher so I am not working and I don’t have any children. The lack of sleep and having to watch them constantly was hard but worth it. I wish more adopters understood how much work puppies are – we try to inform them but too often the families are overwhelmed and sometimes return them. I won’t foster during the school year because with my busy schedule it can be tricky to meet the needs of my own two dogs.

I am her foster Mom & I think we set a record as an application was filled out before I even met her! Moo will have the happy life she deserves thanks to everyone that loved her along the way!!
